NATURE AND THE OBSERVING QUALITY

What is this human nature which is part of body, thought and emotions? It consists of much and has varying degrees of judgment attached to it. But the question arises; when does the judgment serve to protect and evolve the individual and society and when does it crucify and suppress the spirit? When does the lust of men and women cause harm and when does it create good. For there is certainly lust in human nature just as there is anger, greed, and fear. On the other end there is affection, love, joy and creativity.
Wisdom may be present when one knows the affect of taking action from the negative or positive aspects of his or her nature. As well as knowing that inaction will have most often a different affect than action.
We act out of our own nature, from the in dwelling Devine or a mix. How can one know the difference? Not seeing is not knowing. As we do not see our nature, often we do not know that we are acting from it. We will also not know if we are acting out of the Devine spark within.
What is the amount of suffering that comes about through not seeing ones nature? At times it can be colossal. Yet at other times the affect is miraculously beautiful. It is the clear sensing of ones nature that first of all enables him the chance of choice. The choice that is to either act or not act from it.
The self judgment that we have may sometimes cause us to restrain our self from causing great harm to our self or another creature. This is certainly a step forward in evolution, from the extreme impulsiveness that results in deep wounds. To get to peace however, one must go yet a step further. we not only need to be aware of and in control of our bass impulses (especially those impulses that lead to suffering) We Need to become aware of that aspect of our self which judge those impulses. We should be awake to the inner workings of the judge inside the self. We should become aware to the best of our ability, which impulses will lead to harm and which will lead to peace and happiness. Which will lead to confusion and which to clarity. But the judge thinks it knows what is best. And sometimes it is right while at other times it is wrong. Can this be looked into clearly? Can we see that at times we may be wrong even though we hold onto our truth with dear life? Our control may cause harm or it may block harm. It may do the same with joy. Our letting go of control may at times be wise while at other junctures be foolish.
The portion within us that observes is the portion that can see the nature inside, with it’s dualistic qualities. For it is not the quality that can see it’s self.
When we stand in the sun, we cast a shadow. But the only way to see the shadow is to look at it. Also the sun makes more clearly to us the figure of our shadow. In analogy, within our very being is the sun, the shadow and the one who can see the shadow. Our nature may be likened to the shadow, unaware of it’s self. The eyes that see the shadow, like the portion that senses our nature, and the sun is representative of the part of us that makes possible this sensing process.
